Canary Islands go to Rome to represent Spain

Nino Mireles & Román Dopico in the Spain´s Championships 2008

Román Dopico, a young player with only 18 y.o. and Nino Mireles are the couple from Canary Islands that together to other two couples more from Catalonia are going to represent Spain in the 1st WorldChampionships of Beach Tennis ITF in Rome, 4-6 May in the Foro Italico, the same scenario where in this moment is playing Rafa Nadal, Roger Federer and the rest of player the Master Series 1000.

Román and Nino are the couple number 19 ( in total 32 ) in the list of beach tennis ITF in the World. They are classified to this event as the second couple non italian behind of the couple of Belgium Johan Janssens.

They got the semifinal of Spain´s Championships this summer on September in Melilla. They were fourth in the Torredembarra´s international last summer too in September.

Nino was champion of Canary Islands in 2007 and runner up in 2008 together to Octavio. And Román was semifinalist of Canary Islands in 2008 together a Jose Perdomo.

First at all, they go to dispute in Fregene the weekend 2-3 May an international with a draw of 32 couples and a prize of 3500€. And in a row the will play the WorldChampionships in Rome the days 4, 5 and 6.

I hope we have luck,besides that we meet a lot of players of 14 nationalities.
