Wellcome to the new Beach Tennis players

We want to give the wellcome to the new players of beach tennis Wilson, Gonzalo, Eduardo, Carlos y Alberto that they will go far. Today Saturday they was playing since early in the morning and they will finish in the afternoon. I have been seeing them and they have a promising future.

Congratulacions to them, it seems they love this sport as we love it. They are going to play in the next local tournament in May since 1 to 3 in Las Canteras´beach and I augur them the success in the third category and inclusive far away in the second category in the double men.

On the other hand, a fantastic services on behalf of Gonzalo, Wilson and Carlos demostrating his high school of tennis in their hands. In spite of being neophytes in the beach tennis, they have just reached very quickly a good position in the court just like an agressive play.

Congratulations again, best luck to the tournament and have a funny time playing beach tennis,

Yes friends beach tennis players! We have confirmed the First WorldChampionships of beach tennis in Rome in the Foro Itálico on 4, 5, 6 May, in the same place where it has place the Master of tennis in Rome.The organization give you the advantage to transporting the players from the hotel to the fields.

Thanks to the organization. It will be a nice spectacle. I augur an enormous success so much in participating countries as in the quality of the players as the audience as the organization of the event. Tribute to my dear friend the journalist and tireless traveller italian Marco Ortolani

I want to dedicate this article to ( "to" and not "for", "para" y no "por" :-) ) this lover of beach tennis, Marco Ortolani. I met him last year on December in Prague on the first International of Beach Tennis (BT). In fact we were going to play together in the double men but his unfortunately flue avoided it.

He is 41 years old ( I´m sorry Marco because now the women know the true ) and he is from Ravenna in the Adriatic´s Sea. His nickname is " The traveller " because he travells around the World seeing beach tennis competitions and he gives us updated news referred to BT.

My first impression was that he was so professional about what he writed through internet in his website http://www.ortoline.it/ concerned to BT. The time always gives or not the right. In this case the time confirmed me this first impression.

We again coincidence in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in the First International of BT in Las Canteras´s beach on 14-15 March and once more he has been still most professional with 3 articles about this tournament and one of them only about stadistics. Incredible his job!. Thanks a lot.

Oce more with the time he has improved his way of doing his job. Congratulations! Besides he kept his word in Prague that it was that in the next tournament to do something more difficult, writing and playing at same time. He played with Jose Perdomo in Las Palmas. You reached your task, congratulations again!

I am brave to saying that he is one of the persons that has more knowledge aboput BT. He has a computer in his brain.

He has just done a fantastic interview to the champions Alex Mingozzi and Matteo Marighella that I recommend you in reading it. Besides he does other interviews to BT players, public, organizers, ...

Results of I International´s Tournament Beach Tennis ITF in Munich 28-29 March 2009

It has finished the first tournament ITF in the nice frame of "Beach 38", structure with 5 courts covered at Monaco. To defend the italian movement in the doubles men the couples Massimiliano Ambrosetti- Riccardo Gaia, Niccolo Appiotti- Andrea Bolognesi, William Forcellini-Michele Morosato, Amadei-Amadei e Colafranceschi-Fornasier.

Too a huge representation German, besides players from Belgium and Switzerland. All the italian couples have superated the preliminary round accesing to round before quarter-finals. First match was in the semifinal William Forcellini-Michele Morosato against couple Massimiliano Ambrosetti- Riccardo Gaia, the first got the final.

In the other semifinal the victory of Niccolo Appiotti- Andrea Bolognesi against the strong couple german Bürchner-Ringlstetter.

The final victory was to Niccolo Appiotti- Andrea Bolognesi with the score of 6-3/6-0 against William Forcellini and Michele Morosato. This young player got the semifinal in Las Palmas in Las Canteras´s beach in the first international of Canary Islands and now he got the victory in Munich. He is growing too quickly, he is a promise of beach tennis in the world. Congratulations!

In the double women, the italian couple Galli-Imperadori got the round before quarter-finals and was defeated to the german couple that got the victory of the tournament del torneo.

In the double mix, the german couple formed with Oliver Munz and his partner won the tournmanent. Congratulations to my friend Oli and his partner.

FIRST WORLDCHAMPIONSHIPS BEACH TENNIS ITF IN ROME 4, 5, 6 MAY 2009

Dear friends, just a few lines to update you all about the Beach Tennis Events the Italian Tennis Federation is promoting. As most of you already know, the Beach Tennis in Italy is becoming a very popular sport, which is constantly growing.

The two European Championships, held in Sardinia (2007) and Riccione (2008) have contributed a lot to popularize this magnificent sport all over Europe. For that, according to the ITF, the Italian Tennis Federation has decided to organize the first Worldwide Beach Tennis Championship in Rome!

It will be held at the Foro Italico, during the Internazionali BNL d’Italia, in the beautiful surroundings of the WTA Tennis Event, on May 4th – 6th.There will be 3 courts, together with a large tribune to grant the relevant and important visibility. The Event will host Men’s and Women’s competitions with a draw of 24 teams, 16 of which chosen following the ITF ranking and the remaining 8 with wild cards.

Also, the Italian Tennis Federation is organizing other beach tennis events before the Worldwide Beach Tennis Championship in order to make the most of this beautiful initiative.In the next few days the ITF will be releasing the entry form but, in the meanwhile, should you need any further info, feel free to contact us at beachtennis@federtennis.it and I am happy to let you know the Italian Tennis Federation will be hosting this year also, the 2009 European Championship.
